D.I.Y. Project – Salt Scrub

Wearing jewelry is about the art of indulgence and self decoration. Take time to prepare your skin since this is the back-drop for your artistic jewelry. Concoct this simple salt scrub in the comfort of your own home and not only will it save you tons of money but you’ll feel great too!

Prep time: 10-15 minutes

Tools:
Large bowl
Mixing spoon
Measuring cup
Glass jar with a seal for storing your scrub

Ingredients:
2 ½ c Epsom Salt
1 c Carrier Oil
8 drops of essential oil
Food coloring (optional – I prefer the natural color)

Add a touch of color to compliment your fragrance. For example:
Green = mint
Pink = Pink Grapefruit
Blue = Ocean

Mix the Epsom Salt & Carrier Oil together, add each drop of essential oil individually and stir after each drop is added. Finally, add the coloring, if desired, and mix well.

You can also create your own label. I prefer to Mod Podge it to the jar but tape will do too. You can find jars at your local discount store for less than $2 each. The basis for this recipe is courtesy of Martha Stewart. I made a few adjustments based on my experience. It is quick and easy to make. Enjoy!
